Conference Theme

The landscape of the global business is changing significantly through innovations, digital technology, consumer driven culture, interactions and relationships between business entities and individuals, and geopolitics. Success in this increasingly complex and turbulent and highly networked environment, will only be possible if business entities continuously adapt, change and develop dynamic capabilities to attain sustainable growth. Such growth can only be achieved if business entities are prepared to invest and developinter and intra firm creativity, innovation both in product and services and implement state-of-the-art entrepreneurial strategies.

In cognisance of the present business landscape, the broad theme of the ICBSD, 2018 of ‘Integrating business through innovation, diversity, and sustainability in the Asian region’ is deemed appropriate and timely.

Conference Keynote Speakers

Professor Kelvin Willoughby
Skoltech, Moscow, Russia

Prof. Kelvin Willoughby is Professor of Innovation and Intellectual Property at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, in Moscow, Russia. He is also Director of Skoltech’s Innovation and Intellectual Property Laboratory (INIP). He is an expert on the management of intellectual property, technology-based entrepreneurship, and strategic planning for technology-based industry development. He holds doctorates in both strategic management and technology studies, and a master of laws degree in intellectual property law. Professor Willoughby has extensive experience as an educator, researcher and industry consultant in the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and Russia; and has directed a variety of graduate programs and university-industry projects in business and the management of technological innovation. His accomplishments also include being a scholar and an activist in the area of sustainable development.

Professor Mohammed Quaddus
Curtin University, Australia

Professor Mohammed Quaddus, Deputy Head at the School of Marketing, and discipline leader of Supply Chain Management at Curtin University, Australia, received Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh (USA), M.S. from University of Pittsburgh and Asian Institute of Technology. His research interests are in multiple disciplines, which include supply chain and logistics management, risk management in supply chain, theories & applications of diffusion modelling, behavioural modelling in marketing and related areas, tourism, sustainability, information & decision systems, knowledge management, and multiple criteria decision making.

Ms. Ayesha Akhtar Jahan
Director, Renaissance Group, Bangladesh

Ms. Ayesha Akhtar Jahan is one of the leading women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. She is the Managing Director of Pandora Associates Ltd and Director of Renaissance Group, which is involved in Garment Sector, Agro, Media, Education, Energy, Shipping Lines, etc. and currently employs more than 30,000 people. The company has over $ 360 Million in exports. She runs a free school, a community clinic, and a shelter house for the orphan and underprivileged girls of Bangladesh.
